Nearly 2,000 people attended a job fair on Wednesday for the first Navajo Nation casino, The Gallup Independent reported.
The $22 million Fire Rock Casino opens in October at the Church Rock Chapter east of Gallup, New Mexico. The tribe hopes to have everyone hired by August.
“It was amazing the amount of people that came out. People had a lot of questions regarding the casino operation, the construction — and hopefully we answered all the questions,” Phefelia Johnson of the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise, told the Independent.
Another job fair is being held today.
