Republican lawmakers in Washington are calling for an investigation into the Class III gaming compact that was killed by Gov. Chris Gregoire (D).
The lawmakers want to know why Gregoire killed a revenue-sharing compact with the Spokane Tribe. They want to know how she ended up with a new deal that didn't require revenue-sharing and which tribes might have lobbied Gregoire on the issue.
After Gregoire negotiated a new deal in 2005, tribes donated more than $650,000 to Democrats.
