The Meskwaki Tribe of Iowa has lowered its gambling age to 18 while the Kalispel Tribe of Washington has raised it to 21.
As of June 1, the Meskwakis allow 18-year-olds to play poker games against each other. Class III games, like slot machines, are still off limits at the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel.
The Kalispels used to allow younger gamblers at the Northern Quest Casino but the age limit was raised on June 1. Teens who found out about the new policy were upset.
