First Nations casino in Manitoba is smoke-free

The South Beach Casino on the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation in Manitoba went smoke free on Saturday.

The facility, which is owned by seven First Nations, decided to ban smoking due to health concerns. So far, customers don't seem to mind.

"It's very positive. We've had less than a dozen complaints," marketing Tick Rowson told the Winnipeg Sun.

The casino will be expanding its gaming floor and a $20 million hotel opens in August.
