Arizona tribes see slight drop in gaming revenues

Amid concerns about a slowing economy, Arizona tribes saw a slight decline in their gaming revenues in the first three months of the year. According to a report from the Arizona Department of Gaming, tribes shared $24.4 million in revenues with the state. That's down about 1 percent from the same quarter in 2007. The Cocopah Tribe said revenues have dipped slightly at the Cocopah Casino. Business was better for the Quechan Nation "two years ago," a marketing director said. "People are holding a little tighter on their disposable income," Sheila Morago, the executive director of the Arizona Indian Gaming Association, told The Yuma Sun. Get the Story:
