The National Labor Relations Board is overseeing a union election today at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut.
The International Union of Operating
Engineers wants to organize more than 300 electricians, carpenters and other skilled maintenance workers. If successful, it would be the second union at the Foxwoods Resort Casino.
The tribe has disputed the application of federal labor law at the casino. The NLRB has repeatedly rejected the challenges.
