A Florida Senate committee unanimously approved a bill that requires legislative approval of all Class III gaming compacts.
The bill would only affect future compacts. But some lawmakers are upset with the deal that Gov. Charlie Crist (R) signed with the Seminole Tribe and are challenging it in court.
The bill would apply to the Miccosukee Tribe, whose leaders have been negotiating a compact. Slot machines and other Class III games are legal in the state.
