A group called Citizens Against Reservation Shopping wants commissioners in Clark County, Washington, to oppose the casino sought by the Cowlitz Tribe.
The group says the tribe doesn't belong in the county. All three commissioners agree but they say they don't have grounds to oppose the casino.
As a newly recognized tribe, the Cowlitz can acquire land in trust for a casino. The tribe's land-into-trust application has been pending for more than two years.
