The National Labor Relations Board continues to hear testimony about the activities of a union at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut.
The tribe alleges the United Auto Workers threatened, intimidated and harassed card dealers at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. The union, which successfully organized at the casino last November, denies the claims.
The tribe also says the NLRB should have printed Chinese language ballots for dealers who don't use English as a first language. According to the tribe, about a quarter of dealers are of Asian descent.
The hearing comes amid other attempts to unionize at the casino. The International Union of Operating Engineers has asked the NLRB to hold an election to represent engineers, carpenters and other facility workers
