Another union is trying to organize at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut.
The International Union of Operating Engineers wants to represent physical plant workers at Foxwoods Resort Casino. There are 262 electricians, plumbers, power plant operators, sheet metal mechanics and related employees at the casino, The Norwich Bulletin reported.
The United Auto Workers has already organized among card dealers. The United Food & Commercial Workers Union is collecting signatures from bartenders, cocktail servers and restaurant workers, and the International Union of Operating Engineers is targeting plumbers, electricians and carpenters.
