Supervisors in Amador County, California, will once again consider a casino agreement with theBuena Vista Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians.
Last week, supervisors deadlocked by a 2-2 vote on the agreement. But the county made a counter-proposal, which the tribe accepted.
The new deal apparently allows the county to keep pursuing a lawsuit against the Interior Department.
The county says the tribe was not properly recognized and that its rancheria cannot be used for gaming.
Supervisors will meet tonight to vote on the agreement. The tribe plans to go into arbitration, as authorized by the tribal-state compact, if a deal can't be reached.
