Oklahoma tribes shared $70M in gaming revenues
Monday, March 3, 2008
Oklahoma's gaming tribes shared $70.4 million in revenues with the state in 2007, The Tulsa World reports. The figure is on par with estimates that were promised when state voters approved Class III gaming in 2004. It's more than three times higher than the $21.5 million collected in 2006. The Chickasaw Nation shared the most, with $18 million in payments. The Choctaw Nation was second with $16.5 million and the Cherokee Nation was third with $11.5 million. Under the tribal-state gaming compact, tribes share between 6 percent to 10 percent of Class III revenues. Get the Story:
