A judge in Massachusetts is being asked to dismiss a personal injury lawsuit involving the Mohegan Tribe's casino in Connecticut.
Last September, the Massachusetts Appeals Court ruled that Sheila I. Buzulis could not sue the tribe over injuries she allegedly sustained at the Mohegan Sun Casino. The court said the casino was protected by sovereign immunity [Buzulis v. Mohegan Sun Casino].
The tribe was removed from the case but three casino employees remain as defendants. Buzulis is accusing the employees of negligence, deceit, assault and battery and willful, wanton and reckless conduct.
A hearing will be held next Thursday on a motion to dismiss the suit against the remaining defendants.
