Athletic teams at the University of New Mexico have a new sponsor: the casino owned by Laguna Pueblo.
The tribe's development corporation signed a $2.5 million, five-year deal with UNM's athletics department.
The tribe will pay $500,000 a year to the Lobos in exchange for advertising and promotional rights and opportunities.
The tribe's Route 66 Casino Hotel is located about 25 miles west of Albuquerque.
