"Propositions 94 through 97 on the California primary ballot on Tuesday are all about the same thing: They allow four Indian tribes to increase the number of slot machines at their existing casinos.
The new deals would increase the amount of money that would be paid to California by more than $200 million a year. They would also increase the money paid to tribes that do not operate casino gambling.
These agreements have all been negotiated and approved by the governor, the Legislature and the four tribes. They have also been approved by the Department of the Interior.
There is no legal or valid reason for California voters to overturn the provisions of these compacts. They should approve all four propositions."
