A committee in Calhoun County, Michigan, will study the impact of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi's new casino.
After a long court battle, the tribe began construction on the FireKeepers Casino. The facility is expected to open in 2009.
The Casino Baseline Study Committee, whose members included local, tribal, corporate and educational representatives, will study the casino's impact unemployment, crime, divorce, foreclosures and other issues.
