The Bureau of Indian Affairs held a public hearing on the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe's proposed casino in Grove, Oklahoma.
The tribe filed a land-into-trust application for a 33-acre site. Plans call for a $60 million casino.
Opponents greatly outnumbered supporters, The Joplin Globe reported.
Some said they area already has too many casinos.
The tribe initially said it didn't have to go through the land-into-trust process for the casino site. The tribe operates a restaurant at the site that is already on trust land.
