The National Labor Relations Board will hear testimony on Tuesday in a labor union case at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut.
The tribe says the NLRB lacks jurisdiction at the Foxwoods Resort Casino.
The tribe also says an election in which a majority of casino dealers voted to join the United Auto Workers union was flawed.
The NLRB stayed away from tribal enterprises for decades. But a May 2004 ruling said tribes could fall under federal labor law if their casinos employed or affected non-Indians.
