The Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians in California hopes to start work on a $300 million expansion of its casino as early as next month.
The tribe plans to replace the tent-like structure at the River Rock Casino with a permanent facility.
The project includes a hotel, spa, more parking spaces and dining areas.
Last Friday, the tribe received a letter from the Bureau of Indian Affairs over its off-reservation land acquisition in Petaluma, about 40 miles from the reservation. The BIA said the application was incomplete and would not be reviewed without further information [Letters].
