Mohegan Tribe raises cost of casino expansion

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut says its casino expansion will cost $925 million, or $185 million more than expected.

The tribe is adding a hotel tower, more gaming space, a House of Blues music hall, shopping, and bars and restaurants to the Mohegan Sun Casino. Construction is already underway.

"We believe this a phenomenal project," Jeffrey E. Hartmann, the chief operating officer of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, said on a conference call, The Hartford Courant reported.
