Rosebud Sioux Tribe wins gaming contract case

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota is owed more than $525,000 from its former gaming management partner, a tribal judge ruled.

The tribe signed a management contract with BBC Entertainment in 1994. BBC was to receive 35 percent of net profits from the Rosebud Casino.

According to the lawsuit, BBC paid itself $399,353.61 more than it was owed. A tribal judge agreed and ordered the company to pay the tribe.

BBC is owned by Charles Colombe, a former president of the tribe who is running for vice president in today's election. One of his partners at the time of the casino contract was Louis "Wayne" Boyd, who is the current vice president and is running for president.
