Study cites benefits of Passamaquoddy racino

A study commissioned by the Passamaquoddy Tribe of Maine says a racino could generate between $11.9 and $13 million a year.

Todd Gabe at the University of Maine said the tribe's proposed racino would have a major impact on the economy in Washington County. The study doesn't endorse or oppose the racino but cites the potential economic benefit of the project.

The tribe is asking voters on November 6 to approve a race track with slot machines. Voters previously approved a non-Indian racino in 2004.
