Campo Band's plan for casino expansion questioned

About a dozen people attended a public meeting on the Campo Band's plan to expand its casino.

The tribe wants to add a hotel, bowling alley and RV park to the Golden Acorn Casino and Travel Center. An environmental impact study says the project will have a minimal impact on surrounding communities.

San Diego County disputes the conclusion and is calling the study inadequate. Officials say the expansion, unless altered, violates the tribe's gaming compact with the state.
