Two indicted in Leech Lake gaming bribery scheme

Two Minnesota men were indicted on Thursday in connection with an Indian gaming bribery scheme on the Leech Lake Ojibwe Reservation.

Craig Keith Potts is accused of his using his former ATM, credit card and check-cashing services company to bribe three former Leech Lake officials. Two of the former officials were identified only by their initials -- "P.W." and "R.W."

Neither P.W. nor R.W. were indicted. P.W., who received $4,500 in payments, appears to be former chairman Peter White. R.W., who received $35,000, appears to be former gaming director Rodney White.

Also indicted was Michael W. Johnson, the former CEO of the Leech Lake Band's business corporation. He allegedly received $16,500 in payments from Potts.
