Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe open to another site

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe is open to locating a casino in New Bedford, Chairman Glenn Marshall said.

The tribe has purchased land in another town and has proposed a casino deal there. But final decisions won't be made for another 30 to 60 days, Marshall told the city council last night.

"Neither community is ahead of the other," Marshall said, The Cape Cod Times reported.

The tribe's plans in Middleboro have hit a snag due to opposition from residents.
