Gila River Indian Community to share casino profits

Voters of the Gila River Indian Community in Arizona approved a ballot proposal to share gaming profits.

The proposal was approved by 63 percent of voters on Tuesday. Supporters called it a victory for the tribe's 20,000 l members, particularly the 7,000 who live off the reservation.

Gov. William R. Rhodes will have to draft a per capita revenue allocation plan and send it to the Bureau of Indian Affairs for approval.
