Oneida Nation sued over casino construction work

The Oneida Nation of New York is being sued for allegedly failing to pay a construction company for work at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino.

The tribe hired Hunt Construction Co., of Indiana, to expand the casino. The company claims it is owed $38 million for the work.

According to the suit, the tribe said the work would cost $93 million. The company says it spent $115 million due to the tribe's design failures.

The tribe, however, says Hunt provided defective work. Hunt itself faces lawsuits by at least 12 subcontractors who say they weren't paid.
