Saginaw Chippewa Tribe prepares for new casino

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan could have its newest casino up and running by the end of the year.

The tribe plans to build a 32,000-square-foot casino on 350 acres in Saganing. The facility will house more than 700 slot machines and 40 electronic table games -- much smaller than the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant.

Saganing was part of a large Saginaw Chippewa community. Now it's a mostly rural area, with high unemployment rates.
