The big bucks may be in California or Connecticut but when it comes to sheer number of gaming facilities, Oklahoma tribes have everyone beat. Oklahoma is home to the largest number of casinos. The Chickasaw Nation owns the most of any tribes in the state and in the nation. In Ottawa County, eight tribes have opened 10 casinos, all located near a major interstate. That amounts to one casino per every 3,200 residents. "Yes, there are a lot of casinos here, but when you consider that eight tribes are located here, it makes more sense," Judee Snodderly, the executive director of the Miami Area Economic Development Service, told The Tulsa World.
