Suspended Kickapoo gaming officials cleared

The Kansas State Gaming Agency cleared gaming officials and employees who were suspended by the Kickapoo Tribe.

Three officials and three employees of the Kickapoo Gaming Commission were suspended by the tribal council on March 1. Bob Nanomantube, the acting general manager of the Golden Eagle Casino, alleged the commission wasn't providing adequate oversight.

But after an investigation, the state agency said there was no evidence of wrongdoing. The tribal council subsequently voted to reinstate the six people.

The tribal-state compact gives the state some authority to conduct investigations in cooperation with the tribe.
