Kempthorne to swear in DesRosiers at NIGC

Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne will swear in Norm DesRosiers to the National Indian Gaming Commission this afternoon.

DesRosiers joins NIGC as its third member. He was the longtime gaming commissioner for the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians in California.

Phil Hogen, a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, has been serving as chairman since December 2002. Chuck Choney, a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma, joined NIGC at the same time.

The swearing-in ceremony for DesRosiers, who is non-Indian, takes place at the NIGC's offices in Washington, D.C.
