Seminole Tribe investigates death at casino

The Seminole Tribe is in charge of the investigation into Anna Nicole Smith's death at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the casino and was unresponsive. The tribe hasn't released any recordings or information about the initial call made to the tribal police by Smith's nurse.

Tribal officers, however, called the local Hollywood paramedics for assistance. The Hollywood police department played a copy of that call to the media yesterday.

"She's not breathing, and she's not responsive. She's, um, actually Anna Nicole Smith," the female tribal police officer said during the call, the Associated Press reported.

Beyond playing the tape, Hollywood Police Capt. Tony Rode referred all questions to the tribe. "This investigation belongs to the Seminole Police Department," he said.

Smith was pronounced dead after she was taken to a local hospital. She was 39.
