The Florida Supreme Court unexpectedly delayed a hearing over the Seminole Tribe's lawsuit.
The court was due to hear oral arguments on Wednesday. But they have been pushed back to January 30, 2008.
Florida Republicans say Gov. Charlie Crist (R) violated the state constitution by allowing the tribe to offer slot machines and certain card games. They also say the state Legislature should have a role in the compact process.
Crist negotiated the deal under pressure from the Interior Department. The tribe has the right to slot machines and related Class III games after voters legalized them in two counties.
