Donald Trump is eyeing sites throughout Massachusetts for a potential casino, The Boston Globe reports.
Trump has looked all across the state, the paper said. An executive with Trump Entertainment said a Boston-area casino would be the best bet.
"The bottom line is we think that Massachusetts could present an interesting opportunity for our company and our brand," Tom Hickey, director of corporate communications, told the Globe. "It's an opportunity that we have explored, and that we will continue to explore."
Gov. Deval Patrick (D) has proposed to legalize three commercial casino. The bill gives preference to tribal applicants but requires them to pay state taxes.
Trump famously looked down on the Indian gaming industry for years. When asked about the success of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut, he said tribal members "don't look like Indians to me."
