The city council in Monroe, Ohio, is still debating whether to revise a casino agreement with the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma.
The council previously tabled a bill that would allow the tribe to change the location of the proposed casino. But the council has just revived the legislation to give more officials a chance to weigh in.
The tribe wants to have a 123-acre site placed in trust for a casino. An application has yet to be submitted to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the city's law director said.
The tribe and the city believe an agreement will help the tribe in the land-into-trust process.
