The city council in Monroe, Ohio, tabled consideration of a casino agreement with the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma.
The city and the tribe already have an intergovernmental agreement for gaming. But the tribe wanted a new deal to address a specific site where the casino might be built.
The council voted 5-0 to postpone action while the city manager consults the Bureau of Indian Affairs about the planned casino.
