The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut and MGM Mirage have formed a partnership for a commercial casino in Kansas.
The Chisholm Creek Casino Resort would feature a 250-room hotel, 2,000 slot machines, 50 table games, and food, beverage, retail, entertainment and meeting venues, according to news reports.
It would be located on the Kansas Turnpike near Wichita.
The Iowa Tribe, based in Kansas and Nebraska, is a minority partner in the venture. So is former Wichita mayor Bob Knight.
The Foxwoods Resort Casino, owned by the Pequot tribe, has a partnership with MGM. MGM is branding a casino at Foxwoods and the two are looking at gaming and non-gaming ventures across the nation.
