The National Labor Relations Board scheduled a November 24 union election at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut.
The NLRB asserted jurisdiction at the Foxwoods Resort Casino over the tribe's objections. The tribe, which has adopted its own labor laws, plans to appeal the board's decision and will campaign against the union vote.
The United Auto Workers union wants to represent about 3,000 dealers at the casino, which is the largest in the world.
