The Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma is holding two job fairs this week for its out-of-state casino in Kansas.
The tribe has trust land in downtown Kansas City. The legal status of the parcel is the subject of litigation.
The state previously shut down a Class III facility on the parcel. The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals later ruled that the state lacked jurisdiction on trust land.
A federal judge then said the National Indian Gaming Commission was wrong to deny the tribe from gaming on the land. This decision has been appealed to the 10th Circuit.
