The Jackson County Republican Women's Club is opposing the off-reservation casino sought by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
The tribe wants to build a $375 million resort in Ocean Springs, more than 200 miles from the reservation. Republican women are hoping to mobilize voters against the project, which is on the November ballot in a non-binding referendum.
