Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R) might go ahead an authorize a full range of Class III games for the Seminole Tribe over the objections of lawmakers.
Crist has been negotiating a compact with the tribe for slot machines, which voters legalized in 2004. The latest draft of the compact also authorizes the use of table games and card games in the event voters approve those games [PDF].
Lawmakers of both parties, but Republicans especially, say the tribe is only entitled to slot machines. They also say they have final approval over any compact with the tribe.
