The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma has started work on a project that will double the size of its WinStar Casino in Thackerville.
The tribe is adding more gaming space, restaurants, a convention and event center and a hotel to the site.
When work is completed, the casino will be the largest in the state.
The 11-story hotel will be operated by the Chicago-based Gaming Capital Group. It will be located on non-trust land adjacent to the casino.
Located a few miles from Texas, WinStar seeks to draw gamblers who would otherwise go to Louisiana.
