Seminole Tribe eyes table games in Florida

As negotiations for a Class III compact continue, the Seminole Tribe hopes it will be able to offer table games.

Table games don't bring in as much money as slot machines but they are popular for players. ''There's just a little more romance about the table games,'' David G. Schwartz, director of the Center for Gaming Research at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, told The Miami Herald. "You don't see movies with James Bond playing Megabucks or Quartermania. You see him playing baccarat.''

The tribe has the right to offer slot machines since they are no longer outlawed in the state. But the tribe also says other Class III games are on the table.

The state has until September 11 to come to an agreement.
