The La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians is trying to get out of its management contract with Nevada Gold, a gaming compact.
The tribe and Nevada Gold have been working on a small casino. But Chairman Tracy Lee Nelson told The San Diego Union-Tribune, “Things didn't work out."
The National Indian Gaming Commission wanted to review the tribe's contract with the company before the casino project moved forward.
