The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan announced plans for a major expansion of the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort.
The tribe wants to build a 600-acre complex with three new hotel/casinos, another additional hotel, a theme park, a water park, retail development and an indoor ski hill. The new resort would dwarf the size of the current casino, which is already the largest in Michigan.
The tribe didn't release a timeframe for the project. Chief Fred Cantu said it would make the casino into "the premiere Midwest tourist destination."
