The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut has signed a deal to develop a casino in Massachusetts.
The tribe is working with the developers of a site in Palmer, in western Massachusetts. They plan to bid for a casino if the state legalizes casino-style gaming.
The project would not be an Indian gaming facility. The tribe would not seek to have the land placed in trust.
Palmer is located along a major interstate.
