The state of South Dakota is holding up the renewal of two liquor licenses for the Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribe.
The state says the tribe has failed to pay state taxes on cigarettes and gas. The tribe has been given a month to pay the taxes.
The tribe has two licenses to serve liquor at the Dakota Sioux Casino and at the Dakota Connection Casino.
Both are in limbo until the tax issue is resolved, the state says.
