An administrative law judge in California began a hearing on Monday to consider the liquor license for the Barona Band of Mission Indians.
The tribe won a state license to serve alcohol at its casino. But opponents say drunk-driving crashes have increased.
An engineer hired by the tribe disputed the claim. He said only three accidents in the last four years were linked to alcohol sales at the casino.
The hearing continues today. The judge will hear from liquor license opponents, including the local sheriff.
