The National Indian Gaming Commission has hired Cesar Valdez Jr, as director of enforcement.
Valdez comes to the NIGC from the Oneida Nation of New York. He served as director of security for the tribe's Turning Stone Resort and Casino. He also has experience in the regulation of state gaming.
"Cesar brings a broad background that includes Director of Enforcement of the Pennsylvania Horse and Harness Racing Commission.” NIGC Chairman Phil Hogen said. “We look forward to Cesar joining the NIGC and welcome him to the team.”
The Oneida casino is located on land that is not held in trust but is within the boundaries of the original Oneida Reservation. The NIGC has said it won't shut down the facility despite calls from critics.
