Town prepares for vote on Mashpee casino

A Massachusetts town has a week to complete preparations for a vote on the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe's proposed casino.

Voters in Middleboro will go to the polls on July 28 to decide whether to accept an agreement with the tribe. Details of the deal are still being worked out but could be announced as early as today.

As many as 9,000 people could cast their vote. The sheer logistics of the effort have Secretary of State William F. Galvin worried about the legitimacy of the results.

The vote will cost an estimated $124,000.
